Smith Micro develops innovative communications software for the wireless industry. Our leading-edge mobility products simplify communications access over both Wireless Wide Area Networks (WWANs) and Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), and our compression technologies such as StuffIt have been established as industry standards.

Smith Micro software products and services span multiple OS platforms including Windows, Pocket PC, Mac, Palm, Unix and Linux. The company's integrated, easy-to-use, cross-platform software products are incorporated in personal computing and enterprise business solutions that maximize user's productivity.

Smith Micro has extensive experience in providing OEM software and solutions to a variety of wireless carriers and device manufacturers. We have sold over 50 million copies of various QuickLink-branded products.

Smith Micro has established itself as a premier provider of wireless data connectivity solutions through the company's long-term partnerships and agreements with the world's largest mobile operators and handset vendors. Additionally, Smith Micro's custom engineering services bring more than 20 years of hardware and software experience to OEMs seeking to offer specialized products by adding additional product features, customizing existing features and translating an application into additional languages.

In 2005, Smith Micro became a leading provider of compression software solutions that enable state of the art compression, security and archiving of data including JPEG, MPEG and MP3 platforms. Its pioneering product suite known as StuffIt® has been a de facto industry standard since 1986. Our new StuffIt Wireless application is geared towards increasing storage and bandwidth efficiency in a wide variety of portable multi-media devices such as wireless handsets, cameras, and PDA's.

In April of 2006, Smith Micro acquired PhoTags, Inc., a leading developer and marketer of revolutionary photo and music management technology. With the explosive expansion of wireless phones with camera and music capabilities, carriers and handset providers will need music and photo management technology which will allow consumers to easily manage all of this data between their handsets and PCs. Smith Micro will be on the forefront in providing such technology to provide a seamless and cost effective answer to our wireless carriers and handset manufacturer customers.

In January of 2007, Smith Micro acquired Ecutel, Inc., a pioneering developer of standards-based, secure enterprise mobility software solutions. The acquisition represents Smith Micro’s strategy to broaden the company’s product footprint and allow expansion into other high growth wireless security sectors. The integration of IPRoam with Smith Micro’s QuickLink Mobile Enterprise connection manager perfectly compliments its enterprise product base by providing customers with seamless network roaming in the most secure fashion. Through this integration, the IT marketplace will experience an always-on and secure WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network) and Wi-Fi (Wireless Local Area Network) connections for mobile users.

Product brands include QuickLink Mobile, QuickLink Mobile Enterprise, QuickLink PhoneManager, QuickLink Music, StuffIt, StuffIt Wireless, Spring Cleaning, CheckIt, Internet Cleanup, FAXstf and Aquazone.

Smith Micro's complete line of products is available through original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), direct sales, retail stores, and value-added resellers (VARs).
